Provides leadership and direction to assigned group within established objectives and policies. Ensures coordinated working relationships among staff, physicians and other hospital departments through the alignment of resources with patient /customers and staff needs. The Clinical Nurse Manager must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed Must be able to meet the clinical expectations of the RN position description when necessary Implementation and maintenance of nursing standards Provision of support for critically ill patients and their families Demonstration of uncompromising ethics and personal integrity by adhering to the highest standards of ethical behavior Incorporation of current research, new interventions and technological advances into nursing practice Competent use of the Nursing Process in the delivery of direct patient care.
