Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health seeks a Clinical Nurse II to provide direct, age-appropriate care within an integrated plan of care. You will contribute to prevention, wellness, and comfort while recognizing changes in patient conditions and mobilizing resources across the care team.

Responsibilities include directing education, assuming leadership at the unit level, and safely administering medications per orders.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible or compact state.
• Diploma or Associate degree from a professional nursing program.
• All RNs without a Bachelor's degree must enroll in an RN to BSN program within two years and complete within five years.
• Clin III requires certification in a specialty area.
• Clinical experience: Clin II 12–24 months; Clin III 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Assists the health care team with prevention of illness and injury and maintenance of wellness.
• Delivers and documents direct, age-specific care based on medical orders and a multidisciplinary plan.
• Safely administers prescribed medications, identifying incompatibilities and interactions.
• Provides direction, education, and serves as a unit-level role model.
• Organizes work and delegates tasks while supervising others on shifts.
