Position Summary:
The Department of Psychiatry & Human Behavior at UC Irvine Health is a leading academic and clinical institution dedicated to advancing mental health care through clinical care. Our team of expert clinicians offers a full spectrum of psychiatric services for children, adolescents, and adults, including inpatient, outpatient, partial-hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs. The Clinical Nurse II in the Department of Psychiatry at UCI Health plays a key role in improving patient care by providing clinical triage, navigation, and support for behavioral health programs. He/she is responsible for the clinical aspect of patient care. Assists with procedures, patient education, outpatient and post treatment discharge. The nurse incorporates the psycho-motor and age-appropriate cognitive skills of the patient/family/significant other utilizing knowledge of patient assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation. This position collaborates closely with both administrative and clinical/departmental leadership to ensure timely, coordinated, and personalized care throughout the patient’s journey. The Clinical Nurse II also acts as a clinical resource for staff and helps facilitate communication among care providers.
