Job summary

Nash UNC Health Care in North Carolina is hiring a Clinical Nurse to provide competent nursing care in a hospital setting. The role reports to the Nurse Manager/Director and coordinates patient care using the nursing process.

The position requires RN licensure in NC, BLS certification, and 1 year of nursing experience. Full-time, onsite, 36 hours/week with day schedule and on-site location.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Education - identify and meet learning needs of self; attend education programs; use patient education materials relevant to patient population; assess readiness to learn of patient/family/caregivers.
• Evaluation of Care - identify expected patient outcomes; discuss with interdisciplinary team; promote continuity of care.
• Implementation - care for patients with complex problems; perform bedside point of care testing; follow policies; organize care by patient/family needs; consult resources for complex issues.
• Leadership - develop goals for professional growth; promote intra/interdepartmental collaboration; contribute to unit goals and performance improvement; ensure safe, clean environment.
• Patient Assessment - recognize data to determine priorities; assess physical, psychosocial, education and safety needs; anticipate discharge needs; build family relationships.
• Planning - collaborate with patient/family on plan of care; use multidisciplinary resources; address cultural issues in planning; prioritize tasks for complex cases.
• Research - read journals for applicability; share ideas with staff.
