Job summary

Alameda Health System is seeking a Clinical Nurse II (Internal Only) for San Leandro, CA, part-time evening shift. The CN II provides comprehensive nursing care including medications, wound care, and ADLs; may supervise unit staff and coordinate with physicians.

The role requires a California RN license, bilingual ability not specified, and relevant certifications such as ACLS/BLS. Educational requirements include an accredited nursing program with a bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Six months experience as Clinical Nurse I with AHS or the equivalent of one year full time recent experience at a comparable level in a minimum 100-bed hospital or in the area of specialty.
• TNCC - Trauma Nurse Core Course (For Emergency department only) could be preferred.
• Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State Of California.
• ACLS/BLS certifications may be required per unit/department policies.
• Completion of Perinatal Safety Modules within 3 months of hire and maintenance in LMS.

Responsibilities

• Assists and represents the needs of patients to other providers.
• Administers medications and provides skin and wound care and ADLs.
• Develops and updates the nursing care plan and maintains required records.
• Monitors patients for significant changes and communicates with physicians.
• Supervises staff on telemetry units and acts as team leader or charge nurse when assigned.
• Maintains infection control standards and participates in quality assurance activities.
