Job summary

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York is actively seeking registered nurses to join the Emergency Center's Urgent Care Center. You will implement the nursing process for medically complex patients requiring intensive monitoring and rapid interventions, within a 24/7 emergency setting.

Exciting Opportunity at MSK:

We are looking for talented nurses to join MSK's Emergency Center! The Emergency Oncology Service provides emergent and comprehensive patient-centered care to MSKCC'S patients, families, and staff 24 hours, 7 days a week. Patients are triaged/evaluated, and a decision is made to admit, discharge, or place a patient in observation status in the Clinical Decision Unit (CDU).

Emergency Oncology Service - Urgent Care Center

MSK's Emergency Room (ER)operates24/7, managing 80-100 patients daily. This unit does not handle trauma or 911 calls but provides urgent care for registered MSK patients. Once stabilized, patients are typically transferred to Cornell. The ER functions with ICU, Stepdown, Telemetry, and Med/Surg capabilities, and admits about 50% of its patients.

Role Overview:

• Implement the nursing process for medical and surgical patients requiring intensive monitoring and nursing interventions in our Urgent Care Center.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to facilitate continuity of care.
• Provide outstanding patient-centered care to our patients and unregistered patients.
• Deliver care to employees who are injured on the premises.

Key Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN required)
• Active New York State RN license required
• Active BLS Certification required
• Minimum 1.5 years of RN experience
• Critical Care/ Emergency Department and/or medical oncology experience highly preferred

Additional Information:

• Location: 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY
• Schedule:Three 12-hour shifts Monday through Friday, rotating weekends and holidays. The team is seeking candidates for both Night Shift and Mid-Shift We ask that candidates who apply are amenable to both shifts.

- Night Shift: 7:30PM-8AM

- Mid-Shift: 12pm-12:30am

Pay Range: $110,700.00 - $220,400.00FSLA Status: Exempt
