Serves as a consultant/mentor/change agent for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development. Uses the best available evidence to guide practice decisions. Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization. Collaborates with nursing leaders and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff. Supports an environment that promotes evidence based nursing practice based on nursing research, scientific inquiry, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice. May perform clinical patient care when needed. Manages the onboarding and orientation of all new employees and students on assigned unit(s). Participates in the development, coordination, and delivery of all education activities on assigned unit(s). Participates in research activities, quality improvement, or evidence-based practice initiatives.
