Hourly Pay Range:

$40.45 - $62.70 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Clinical Nurse Educator - EMS
Position Highlights:
  • Position: Clinical Nurse Educator - EMS
  • Location: Northwest Community Hospital - Arlington Heights
  • Part Time: 16 hours week
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am - 4:30pm
What you will do:
  • Assesses staff development needs and plans, develops, and implements staff development programs to maintain and enhance the clinical expertise of staff within their specific clinical setting. Conducts program evaluations to determine the effectiveness of the presentation.
  • Coordinates and evaluates the orientation progress of new employees through direct observation during delivery of patient care, conducting performance feedback meetings with preceptors and/or department leadership. Initiates targeted Orientation Developmental Action Plans that meet the identified needs of each learner.
  • Collaborates with department Leadership to coach and evaluate department Preceptors to support and facilitate their role in the orientation of new employees.
  • Maintains awareness of new standards of care, medical products, equipment and technology. Participates in the development of new policies, procedures and protocols. Develops competency-based educational programs, along with program evaluations, to ensure compliance to these standards.
  • Acts as a mentor and consultant for all clinical staff including modeling effective physician collaboration in defining and achieving a plan of care for the patient.
  • Represents department or specialty area as a member of permanent or ad-hoc corporate committees as assigned and acts as a consultant to other hospital departments when requested.
  • Incorporates evidence-based facts, research techniques and data analysis into educational planning continuous quality improvement initiatives, and clinical practice. Assists in monitoring, developing and maintenance of the department's quality assurance programs.
  • Adheres to all Northwest Community Hospital standards, policies, and procedures.
What you will need:
  • Education: The level of knowledge normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • License: Licensure to practice Nursing in the state of Illinois.
  • Experience: A minimum of three years experience as a Staff Nurse in area of expertise.
