Job summary

Tampa General Hospital's ED Hold Unit is seeking a Clinical Nurse for night shifts. Under general supervision, you will deliver nursing care, plan and implement nursing interventions, document assessments, and communicate goal-directed care while upholding patient rights.

The ED Hold Unit provides inpatient and observation care for admitted Medical-Surgical and Cardiac patients, starting in the Emergency Department and transitioning to inpatient units as beds become available.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida.

• Delivers nursing care to patients under general supervision, following established policies and procedures.
• Plans and implements nursing care; documents nursing assessments; identifies situations requiring further intervention.
• Formulates and communicates goal-directed plans of care; assures patient rights.

Job description

Clinical Nurse - ED Hold - (26000013)

Under general supervision, following established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines, delivers nursing care to patients. Plans and implements nursing care; documents nursing assessments; identifies and reports situations requiring further intervention; formulates and communicates goal-directed plan of care; assures patient rights. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital and principles of quality improvement.

ED Hold Unit

The ED Hold Unit is a specialized inpatient nursing department located within the Emergency Department. Staffed by a dedicated inpatient nursing team, this unit provides care for admitted Medical-Surgical and Cardiac patients under both inpatient and observation status.

Care begins in the Emergency Department and is delivered in close collaboration with the ED nursing team. Patients with inpatient status are transferred to inpatient units as beds become available, while those under observation remain in the ED Hold Unit for the duration of their stay.

Qualifications
