Job summary

HCA HealthONE Rocky Mountain Childrens is seeking a Registered Nurse to assume leadership for directing and coordinating all unit functions during designated shifts. You will collaborate with the management team to assess care quality and support staff development.

The role requires current Colorado RN licensure, BLS, and NRP/PALS; BSN is preferred. Leadership experience and commitment to patient safety and high-quality outcomes are essential for success in this unit serving the Denver area.

Qualifications

  • Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse or active multistate RN license.
  • BLS – Healthcare provider certification.
  • NRP or PALS required; NRP for attendance of newborns at delivery and new admissions.
  • Special certifications as required by unit; ongoing professional development and competency.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate all unit functions during designated shift.
  • Serve as a resource person for staff and support ongoing education.
  • Ensure overall quality of nursing care when on duty.
  • Make decisions based on Administrative Operational Standards and Nursing Standards in collaboration with management.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Position Summary:

Under the general supervision of the unit’s director or designee the CNC assumes responsibility for direction and coordination of all functions in the unit on his/her designated shifts. In collaboration with other members of the management team, this individual is responsible for the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in unit.

The CNC:

A. Assumes responsibility for direction and coordination of all functions during the designated shift.

B. Functions as a resource person for staff member and assists in necessary education of individual members of the nursing staff.

C. Assumes responsibility for the overall quality of nursing care provided when s/he is on duty

D. Makes decisions regarding activities with these areas based on Administrative Operational Standards, Nursing Administrative Standards, Human Resource Standards, and Standards of Care for the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.

Position Requirements
  • a. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate Registered Nurse license. BLS – Healthcare provider. NRP or PALS required. NRP required for attendance of newborns at delivery and new admissions. Other specialty certifications as required by Unit.
  • b. Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred. Activity in professional organizations encouraged.
  • c. Experience: Two (2) years of clinical practice in the clinical specialty of his/her unit and leadership/ management experience is preferred.
  • d. Special Qualifications: Continuing demonstration of clinical and leadership competency. Commitment and understanding of staffing matrix/productivity standard. Committed to the goals of the unit, patient safety initiatives and positive patient experience.
  • e. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Demonstrates good organizational skills. Provides safe and appropriate patient care within the standards of nursing practice. Displays judgment and superior problem solving skills. Communicates positively and professionally with all internal and external customers.
