Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Research Software Engineer with expertise in Clinical NLP to develop and deploy advanced NLP and LLM solutions that extract insights from unstructured clinical data. You will build scalable models and pipelines for applications such as named entity recognition, diagnosis prediction, risk stratification, phenotyping, and structured data extraction in healthcare settings.

Qualifications

• Strong experience designing and deploying clinical NLP solutions to analyze unstructured patient notes and extract meaningful healthcare insights.
• Hands-on expertise with machine learning, BERT/BioBERT/ClinicalBERT and similar models.
• Experience with clinical NLP applications such as cohort identification, clinical phenotyping and risk stratification.
• Knowledge of terminologies and ontologies such as SNOMED CT and ICD-10.
• Proven background working directly within healthcare environments, supporting clinical research and patient-focused use cases.
• Experience building and customizing NLP workflows in Databricks, with exposure to LLM technologies and end-to-end model development in secure healthcare settings.
