Job summary

USC Care Medical Group seeks a Medical Assistant to support clinical workflows, record vital signs, prepare charts, assist physicians, and collect specimens. You will manage patient flow, handle clerical tasks, and ensure privacy and safety in line with Joint Commission standards.

Responsibilities include chart preparation, tests coordination, room setup, specimen handling, and coverage for colleagues as needed. Requires CMA training and BLS; Spanish skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent; Medical Assistant program completion.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
• Prefers CMA certification and familiarity with medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and record vital signs.
• Prepare patient charts, order tests, and assist during exams.
• Obtain blood specimens by venipuncture or capillary method.
• Record and route patient information in EHR per standards.
• Maintain infection control and safe clinical environment.
• Provide coverage for coworkers and communicate patient status.
