Allegheny Health Network seeks a Medical Assistant to support patient care under supervision, prepare patients, document in EHR, and follow AHN protocols.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, obtaining vitals, reviewing medication lists, and assisting with procedures in a busy clinical setting.

Minimum qualifications include High School/GED or Medical Assistant program; certification within 120 days; CPR; preferred Associate’s Degree; HIPAA/compliance required.

Qualifications

• High School / GED or completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Certification requirements: employees who have graduated from a medical assistant program within five years OR proof of one year of work experience must complete certification training and obtain certification within 120 days of hire.
• Preferred: Associate’s Degree.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate patient care under supervision using a team-based approach.
• Prepare and room patients, obtain vital signs, document history, tobacco and medication screens, and review medication lists in the EHR.
• Perform back office testing and assist providers with examinations and procedures.
• May serve as a medical scribe with additional training and ensure timely follow-up with patients.
• Prepare exam rooms, maintain inventory, sterilize instruments, and document in the EHR.
• Adhere to HIPAA, compliance policies, and company code of conduct.
