Job summary

University Hospitals in Elyria, OH is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the North Ohio Heart clinic in an outpatient setting.

You will room patients, take vital signs, document in the EMR, assist with procedures, and help ensure a smooth, patient-centered flow.

This role requires professionalism, PHI protection, and collaboration with providers to deliver safe, high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates unit operations by managing patient flow.
• Assist with front desk duties specific to department, including scheduling patients, collecting and verifying patient payor information and other patient documentation.
• Performs basic patient centered care as delegated by provider
• Provides a safe environment for patients
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
