Job summary

Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara Medical Offices is seeking an entry-level Medical Assistant to assist in examination and treatment under the direction of the Physician and/or Designee. The role prepares treatment rooms, records vitals, assists clinicians, manages supplies, and supports routine lab tests.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical information.
• Ability to effectively present information, both verbal and written.
• Must be willing to work in a Labor Management Partnership environment.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients and measures vital signs and other pertinent information as required by department. Records information in patient’s medical record. Prepares treatment rooms and patients for examination. Assists clinician with patient care.
• Schedules appointments, performs clinical tasks and completes forms as required. May administer medications, including injections. May sterilize and check instruments. Performs computer data entry and other clinical tasks.
• Anticipates customer needs, responds to alarms and patient requests, maintains clean/work environment, and supports a collaborative labor-management partnership.
• Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
