Responsible for providing students with industry‑recognized instruction and training in the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Career Technical Training program. Prepares students for successful completion of the CMA program and applicable industry‑recognized certifications, as well as employment, higher education, or advanced training. Provides individualized support to promote student progress, achievement, and successful completion of the Job Corps program. Ensures strict confidentiality of sensitive information and maintains the integrity of student data.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Follows all integrity guidelines and procedures and ensures no manipulation of student data.
  • Ensures the Center meets or exceeds DOL/Company performance goals.
  • Provides students with high‑quality classroom, laboratory, and hands‑on instruction in Certified Medical Assisting.
  • Provides training leading to successful completion of the CMA program and industry‑recognized certifications.
  • Teaches medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, patient care, vital signs, infection control, safety procedures, clinical procedures, administrative procedures, and other competencies required for successful employment as a medical assistant.
  • Provides hands‑on demonstrations and instruction that allow students to safely develop and practice essential clinical and administrative medical assisting skills.
  • Prepares students for applicable industry‑recognized certification examinations and employment in the healthcare field.
  • Provides comprehensive and individualized case management to support student progress, achievement, and completion of the Job Corps program.
  • Monitors student progress and provides appropriate remediation and individualized support to address barriers to successful program completion.
  • Provides career guidance, job leads, and employment preparation related to the healthcare field and supports graduate placement efforts.
  • Ensures the classroom and laboratory are clean, organized, safe, and conducive to student learning.
  • Holds students accountable for following Center dress code, behavioral standards, safety procedures, and professional expectations.
  • Provides high‑quality supervision and management of the student population and takes swift and appropriate action to address behavioral or safety concerns.
  • Mentors, monitors, and models the Career Success Standards as required by the PRH.
  • Demonstrates respect and courtesy toward students while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and holding students accountable for their actions and behavior.
  • Maintains current knowledge and skills necessary to effectively perform assigned job responsibilities and proactively maintains professional and technical skills.
  • Produces quality work and assignments in a thorough, timely, and accurate manner.
  • Maintains appropriate personal attendance, accountability, and work productivity standards.
  • Plans, prioritizes, and organizes assignments to meet established goals and deadlines.
  • Provides quality programs and services for students and pursues improvement and enhancement of the CMA program.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing, and contributes meaningfully to group efforts by offering relevant ideas and knowledge.
  • Provides accurate and timely information to DOL/Company and Center management when requested.
  • Identifies problems, analyzes causes, evaluates appropriate solutions, and follows up to ensure prompt and appropriate corrective action is taken.
  • Works in partnership with staff from all departments to ensure effective supervision and comprehensive services are provided to students.
  • Accepts direction and supervision from the Center Director/Center Duty Officer/Shift Manager, including assignments to temporarily perform job responsibilities of other departments and positions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Required
  • Minimum of one year of experience in teaching, training, or a related healthcare field.
  • Must be certified, licensed, or accredited in the state in which the Center is located, or accredited by an applicable professional organization.
  • Must possess current knowledge of medical assisting practices, procedures, terminology, and industry standards.
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License and meet company insurability requirements.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to lift 40 pounds and/or assess the lift load and request necessary assistance.
  • Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position, including sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, stooping, and crouching.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality of student and Center information and follow all applicable integrity guidelines and procedures.
Preferred
  • Previous Job Corps experience.
  • Previous experience teaching or training Certified Medical Assistants or healthcare students.
  • Experience preparing students for a nationally recognized CMA or related healthcare certification examination.
  • Current industry‑recognized healthcare certifications relevant to the CMA program.
