Job summary

All Medical Personnel is seeking a Clinical Medical Assistant to join a dedicated healthcare team in a clinical setting. The role focuses on patient care, specimen handling, and support for diagnostic procedures to maintain a safe, efficient environment.

Job description

Join a dedicated healthcare team as a Clinical Medical Assistant in a clinical setting in the region. Responsibilities
  • Perform and assist with basic patient care activities under the supervision of a licensed nurse and physician.
  • Conduct peripheral venipuncture to collect blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Assist with administration of oral medications and injections via subcutaneous and intramuscular routes, following state scope of practice guidelines.
  • Support nurses with EKGs, diagnostic tests, and other clinical procedures according to training and policies.
  • Attend sick call with the physician, prepare examination rooms and equipment, and assist with patient assessments.
  • Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation and airway management techniques as needed.
  • Dress wounds, assist with immobilization of injuries, and provide oxygen therapy including insertion of nasal and oral airways.
  • Assist with urinary catheterizations, monitor vital signs, and record patient conditions; communicate with doctors and staff as necessary.
  • Utilize proper body mechanics to assist with moving and transporting patients safely.
  • Control and inventory medical supplies and equipment, ensuring proper sanitation and security of all medical materials.
  • Document clinical activities, maintain medical records with confidentiality, and prepare various reports and logs.
  • Prepare safety and incident reports, and respond appropriately to emergencies and unusual situations.
  • Coordinate patient movement for medical treatments and verify patient identification accurately.
  • Engage in security checks to ensure facility safety, including confined area inspections.
  • Maintain professionalism, tact, and good judgment while communicating effectively with staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Adhere to all applicable regulations, laws, policies, and procedures, and handle sensitive information confidentially.
Required Skills
  • High school diploma, GED, or higher education level.
  • State certification as a Medical Assistant in the state of employment or meet applicable certification requirements.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to perform clinical procedures, including venipuncture, injections, and basic diagnostic support.
  • Strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to safety protocols.
Additional Skills & Requirements
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or other recognized national certification is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a clinical or healthcare setting is desirable.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, or holidays if required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, sanitation standards, and emergency procedures.
  • Physically capable of assisting with patient mobility and performing clinical tasks.
