Job description

It started with a simple idea: what if surgery could be less invasive and recovery less painful? Nearly 30 years later, that question still fuels everything we do at Intuitive. As a global leader in robotic-assisted surgery and minimally invasive care, our technologies—like the da Vinci surgical system and Ion—have transformed how care is delivered for millions of patients worldwide.

We’re a team of engineers, clinicians, and innovators united by one purpose: to make surgery smarter, safer, and more human. Every day, our work helps care teams perform with greater precision and patients recover faster, improving outcomes around the world.

The problems we solve demand creativity, rigor, and collaboration. The work is challenging, but deeply meaningful—because every improvement we make has the potential to change a life.

If you’re ready to contribute to something bigger than yourself and help transform the future of healthcare, you’ll find your purpose here.

Primary Function of Position

Joining the Ion Clinical Marketing team is an opportunity to develop and execute national and regional strategic marketing initiatives that help hospitals turn their investment in Ion into successful, growing thoracic oncology programs at scale. This role offers the opportunity to lead highly visible events and communications initiatives, working directly with customers and sales teams to shape how lung cancer programs develop across the U.S.

This individual will work closely with physicians, healthcare executives, operational leaders, and sales teams to identify successful local best practices and bring them to a broader audience through national and regional peer-to-peer programming. They will develop content and communications strategies tailored to these audiences, equip sales teams with tools to help customers put these practices into action, and create resources to help drive net-new patient volume to Ion programs across the country. They will own assigned initiatives from strategy through execution, with accountability for adoption, impact measurement, and continuous improvement.

Essential Job Duties
  • Discover: Engage multidisciplinary customer stakeholders, commercial teams, and cross-functional partners to understand patient journeys, program needs, and barriers to adoption, growth, and expansion.
  • Synthesize: Identify common needs and successful practices from customer and field insights that can inform initiatives for broader audiences.
  • Design: Develop program strategies, curriculum, and learning activities that help customers and sales teams apply insights and implement best practices.
  • Engage/Promote: Develop and execute integrated internal and external communication and deployment strategies that drive awareness, utilization, and value realization.
  • Independently author communications and marketing content, develop claims and supporting substantiation, and manage regulatory, clinical affairs, and legal review and approval.
  • Execute: Lead content development and cross-functional implementation of assigned initiatives.
  • Evaluate: Measure program and resource utilization and impact using qualitative and quantitative data and customer and field feedback. Manage assigned budgets and identify opportunities to improve results and resource use.
  • Summarize: Deliver clear, compelling presentations to senior and executive Intuitive leadership and other stakeholders. Report outcomes objectively and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • - Refine and Scale: Use results and feedback to improve effectiveness, reinforce adoption, and scale successful approaches. Recommend when to refresh, consolidate, or retire programs and resources.

  • - Experience coaching physicians and executives on presentation content, structure, and delivery.
  • - Proven track record developing and deploying integrated internal and external communication plans tailored to stakeholder priorities and needs.
