Remote Manager – Cardiac Implanted Electrical Device (CIED) Monitoring

The organization seeks a full-time Remote Manager to join the team and oversee a centralized group of Cardiac Device Specialists responsible for remote monitoring of CIEDs across the platform. The supervisor will utilize electrophysiology knowledge to support device analysis, report generation, and communication with clinical care teams. This role is a leadership position for daily operations and a clinical expert for CIED monitoring.

Position Summary

The Manager will help launch and oversee a centralized team of Cardiac Device Specialists responsible for remote monitoring of CIEDs across our platform. The supervisor will utilize knowledge of electrophysiology to support device analysis, report generation, and communication with clinical care teams across the platform. This role serves as a leadership role for daily operations and clinical expert for CIED monitoring.

Responsibilities & Duties

Under the direct supervision of the operations director and in collaboration with physicians, the manager is responsible for:

  • Supervising Cardiac Device Specialists inclusive of:
  • Clinical supervision and oversight of Cardiac Device Specialists
  • Ensure accurate and timely review of device transmissions
  • Coordinate onboarding, training, and ongoing education for new and existing team members
  • Provide feedback and coaching to ensure clinical excellence and protocol adherence
  • Manage daily workflow and transmission volumes
  • Run reports and reconcile various reports inclusive of error logs, interface logs, and billing reports
  • Lead team huddles and meetings related to clinical aspects of CIED monitoring
Providing CIED Monitoring Services
  • Priority triage of transmission alerts
  • Process all inbound transmissions and create docket reports in Murj clinical application
  • Manage transmission schedules
  • Collaborate with market operations and physicians to manage lost to follow-up patients
  • Interpret transmissions and Murj docket reports based on findings
  • Cross-reference device websites with Murj to ensure 100% transmission conversion rate
  • Contact patients as needed
  • Integrate knowledge from physiology, pathophysiology, and cardiac device function to perform competent evaluations and analysis via remote monitoring
  • Recognize abnormal functions of pacemakers, defibrillators, ILRs and CRT devices and recommend strategies to address issues
  • Communicate with clinical team and providers regarding CIED function and diagnostic data through accurate, professional, and standardized documentation
Education Requirements
  • Associate degree in a medical field plus at least one year of experience in CIED remote monitoring or in-person evaluations, or two years of experience in CIED monitoring (remote or in-person) without a formal degree
Licenses, Certifications, Registrations
  • International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) certification including CCDS, CDRMS, or CEPS is preferred
  • Certification will be required within one year of hire
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Efficient knowledge and usage of various device programmers such as Medtronic, Boston Scientific, Abbot, and St. Jude Medical
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Ability to function independently within the limits of the position
  • Ability to function in a team environment
  • Interpersonal skills to be approachable and understandable to patients, families, and care team members
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification
