Job summary

Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, IA is hiring a Clinical Liaison to support inpatient acute rehab. In this role you’ll build referral relationships, coordinate intake, and perform on-site clinical judgments to determine admission appropriateness.

You will communicate options to patients and families, gather resource information, and serve as the initial contact for external case management and payors.

Qualifications

• Clinical licensure required.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Marketing or sales experience preferred; clinical experience required.

Responsibilities

• Builds and maintains referral relationships to drive appropriate admissions to the acute rehab unit
• Assist and coordinate the intake and pre-admission screening process
• Perform on-site (typically in a referring facility) clinical judgment to determine the appropriateness of the patient for admission
• Communicates rehabilitation and facility options to patients and families. Communicates with patients, determines admission appropriateness, and assesses the patient’s expectations and requirements for participation.
• Secures information relating to patients’ resources and benefits
• Functions as initial contact for external case management and discharge planner personnel with payors and hospital facilities
