Job summary

Panorama Orthopedics & Spine Center is seeking a qualified healthcare professional to assist in delivering exceptional patient care under physician supervision. The role emphasizes coordination of care, accurate charting, and efficient support across departments.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, Medical Assistant Certification, and experience with EHR systems. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in a related field is required.
• Medical Assistant Certification highly preferred and 2 years back-office experience.
• Proficiency with EHR systems and 40 WPM typing.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to patients and internal/external customers.
• Assist physicians with coordination of care between departments, testing, and facilities.
• Assist physician with chart completion including patient exam, assessment, and plan.
• Enter CPT and diagnosis codes into the EHR.
• Initiate orders for MRI, CT, US and Bone Scans as directed by the physician.
• Provide live phone support for patient calls within the subspecialty.
• Coordinate patient/clinic flow with medical assistants.

Position Overview

Assists in the delivery of exceptional individualized patient care under the direct supervision of a physician or physician assistant.

Essential Functions

• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers through prompt response and courteous communication.
• Assisting the physicians with coordination of care between other departments, testing and surgical facilities, and/or physician offices.
• Assist physician in chart completion including documentation of patient exam, assessment, and plan.
• Responsible for adding CPT and diagnosis codes into the electronic health record.
• Initiates orders for MRI, CT, US and Bone Scans as directed by the physician on the day the patient is seen.
• Provide live phone support as needed for all incoming patient phone calls within the designated subspecialty.
• Coordinates patient/clinic flow together with medical assistants.

Other

• Anticipate ways to improve patient care and experience.
• Assists in the evaluation, development and effectiveness of systems and protocols.
• Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills Abilities Required

• Bachelor Degree in related field
• High School Diploma or GED with Medical Assistant Certification and preferably 2 years back office medical office experience.
• Knowledge of EHR system.
• Type at least 40 WPM.
• Excellent communication skills.
• In depth knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology, anatomy and physiology, and surgical procedures as well as treatment modalities.
• Must be able to spell accurately.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Ability to maintain quality control standards.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA requirements.

Physical and/or Mental Requirements

• For extended periods of time must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk and reach.
• Must work well under pressure
• Must be able to read, understand and follow oral and written instruction.
• Ability to communicate via telephone and written word to give and receive information to and from patients and coworkers.
• Ability to move about a clinic setting.
