Labcorp in Burlington, NC is seeking a Technologist Trainee to join our Special Chemistry team. The role operates on a Tue-Sat, 8:00pm-4:30am schedule and involves routine and complex testing following SOPs to support patient care.

New grads are welcomed; full training is provided. You will work with instrumentation, perform quality control, and contribute to accurate results while building a career in clinical diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts.

Responsabilités

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Assist with processing of specimens as needed.

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist Trainee to join our Special Chemistry team located in Burlington, NC!

Work Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday, 8:00pm-4:30am

Job Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience
• ASCP or AMT certification

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirements
• Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems
• High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
