Labcorp in Baton Rouge, LA seeks a Technologist to join our clinical laboratory team. You will prepare specimens, perform testing, and ensure accurate data entry while supporting quality and safety standards.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science and MLS certification with at least one year of experience. The schedule is Monday–Friday with possible overtime; lab environment and team collaboration are emphasized.

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist to join our team in Baton Rouge, LA.

Work Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (work hours may vary and weekend rotations may be required)

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
• Communicate effectively with client office staff
• Research, troubleshoot and resolve customer and specimen problems

• Scrub requisitions to ensure samples are prepared and missing items are updated

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technologist, Medical Lab Science, Clinical Lab Science, or equivalent
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory experience
• MLS (ASCP) or MLS (AMT) certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Louisiana state CLS (LSBME)

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirements
• Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
• Experience working in a high volume laboratory environment
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems
• High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
