Job summary

Labcorp in Carmel, IN is seeking a Technologist to join our clinical laboratory team. The role requires performing routine and complex testing, verifying results, and maintaining equipment within a high-volume lab environment.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:30pm to 11:00pm, with potential overtime. A bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science and MLS or equivalent experience are required for applicants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology required.
• MLS degree or 1+ year of clinical laboratory testing experience required or ASCP/AMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.
