Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related science.
• Licensed by NYS Dept of Education as Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
• Knowledge of hematology, chemistry, blood bank, and/or microbiology.
• Hospital experience preferred.
• Must work weekends and holidays.
• Good oral and written communication skills.

• Establishes/monitors the department's quality control policies and documentation of all quality control activities.
• Correlates laboratory methods, procedures, and patient test results with age-specific population criteria and demonstrates understanding of patient needs.
• Establishes and implements service priorities, workflow patterns; monitors workflow to assure prompt and efficient delivery of services.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

• Establishes/monitors the department's quality control policies and ensures documentation of all quality control activities, instrument, and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed. Ensures that departmental supplies are stocked and well maintained.
• Correlates laboratory methods, procedures, and patient test results with age-specific population criteria and demonstrates appropriate understanding of the needs of patients and visitors for each specific age group. Addresses safety and psychological needs in planning or delivering care
• Establishes and implements service priorities, workflow patterns; monitors workflow to assure prompt and efficient delivery of services.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related science from an accredited school
• Licensed under the NYS Dept of Education as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist
• Knowledge of hematology, chemistry, blood ban, and/or microbiologypreferred
• Hospital experience desired
• Must work weekends and holidays as scheduled
• Good oral and written communication skills essential.

Salary Range

USD $53.95 - USD $76.36 /Hr.

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
