Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Lab Professional to join our team at Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan, KS. This position requires performing routine and complex laboratory procedures, monitoring instrumentation, and ensuring accurate test results, with a focus on safety and quality.

Minimum qualifications include an associate degree in a chemical or biological science or related field. Preferred candidates have 2+ years of lab experience and ASCP/AMT certification, familiarity with LIS,

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
  • Non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirement.
  • 2+ years of clinical laboratory testing experience (preferred).
  • ASCP or AMT certification (preferred).
  • Familiarity with laboratory information systems.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Proficient with computers.
  • High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.
  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to SOPs.
  • Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
  • Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
  • Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
  • Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
  • Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
  • Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE.

Job description

LabCorp is seeking a Clinical Lab Professional to join our team at Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan, KS.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, alternating third shifts (8:00pm – 6:30am or 10:00pm – 8:30am) with rotating weekends.

Job Responsibilities

  • Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.

  • Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
  • Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.

  • Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
  • In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years or more of clinical laboratory testing experience.
  • ASCP or AMT certification.

Employees scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits, including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan. Employees on a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible for all benefits except PTO or FTO.
