Job description

We are seeking an experienced Microbiology Section Lab Supervisor to oversee clinical microbiology operations and ensure accurate, high-quality laboratory testing. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical laboratory experience, microbiology expertise, and proven leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily Microbiology laboratory operations and staff.
• Perform and oversee technical laboratory procedures and testing.
• Monitor Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) activities.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
• Ensure proper specimen handling and accurate patient results.
• Maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, and California laboratory regulations.
• Support staff training, competency, and laboratory quality initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) License – REQUIRED
• Strong experience in Clinical Microbiology Laboratory operations.
• Experience with QC/QA, laboratory procedures, and instrumentation.
• Knowledge of laboratory regulations and specimen handling.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Modesto/Turlock, CA.

Preferred: ASCP Certification and previous hospital laboratory supervisory experience.
