Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or CLS, and be eligible for California CLS licensure; the position is full-time with on-site work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Allied Health Technologies, or foreign equivalent.
• State of California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license, or in the process of obtaining the license.

Responsibilities

• Employs patient identification procedures to ensure the integrity of each specimen for pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical testing.
• Performs proper specimen collection (including phlebotomy procedures, as necessary), labeling, handling, preserving, or fixating, processing or preparing, transporting and storing.
• Adheres to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other patient confidentiality guidelines and regulations.
• Prioritizes lab orders according to type (STAT, ASAP, routine and timed studies).
• Performs various testing (including chemistry, coagulation, hematology, special chemistry, urinalysis, blood bank, serology, immunology, bacteriology, microbiology, referral testing, etc.).
