The position is non-exempt (FLSA) with expected duties including specimen accessioning, testing, and collaboration with the patient care team. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree and are encouraged to pursue required certifications within 18 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent
• One year hospital lab experience preferred
• Must meet cert eligibility within 18 months and obtain an approved certification from ASCP/AMT/NCA/ABHI/Microbiology registry

Responsibilities

• Performs qualitative and quantitative tests using analyzers and manual methods
• Organizes workload and sets priorities to meet turnaround times
• Maintains patient test records and lab documentation in LIS/other systems
• Collaborates with care teams and communicates pertinent information
• Provides training and mentorship to students and new staff
