Job summary

Indian Health Service is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to perform routine and specialized laboratory testing across chemistry, microbiology, hematology, molecular diagnostics, immunology, and immunohematology. You will collect specimens, ensure proper handling, and verify results with strict quality control.

Role requires adherence to accreditation standards, active involvement in QA activities, and providing technical guidance to laboratory staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science/medical technology or higher.
• NAACLS-accredited MLS/CLS program or equivalent.
• One year of specialized experience may substitute as described in the qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized clinical laboratory testing in areas such as chemistry, microbiology, hematology, molecular diagnostics, immunology, and immunohematology.
• Collect, prepare, and evaluate patient specimens with proper handling and documentation.
• Conduct quality control, proficiency testing, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting per regulatory standards.
• Provide support with QA activities, procedure development, inventory management, and guidance to lab staff.
