Job summary

KA Recruiting Inc. is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist for a healthcare organization outside of Redding, CA. This full-time role features 4 x 10-hour shifts (2:00 PM–12:30 AM) and starts at $50/hour plus benefits.

The CLS will perform bench microbiology, troubleshoot instruments, and communicate STAT/critical values to care providers across Hematology, Transfusion Service/Serology, Chemistry, Microbiology and Urinalysis.

Qualifications

• California CLS license is required.
• Graduate of an accredited CLS program with internship.
• 5+ years of progressive healthcare experience.
• Strong microbiology experience including Gram stains, rapid strep testing, anaerobic culture setup, and susceptibility testing.
• QC and troubleshooting across multiple lab departments.

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting and maintenance on laboratory instrumentation.
• Work across Hematology, Transfusion Service/Serology, Chemistry, Microbiology & Urinalysis.
• Conduct bench microbiology including cultures, organism identification and susceptibility testing.
• Communicate STAT, urgent and critical values to care providers.

What We're Looking For

• California CLS license required
• Graduate of an accredited CLS program with internship
• 5+ years of progressive healthcare experience
• Strong microbiology experience, including:
  • Gram stains and rapid strep testing
  • Anaerobic and routine culture setup
  • Positive blood culture processing
  • Plate reading and sub-culturing
  • Organism identification and susceptibility testing
• Comfortable performing QC and troubleshooting across multiple laboratory departments
