Job summary

Mindera Health in Vista, CA is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist for a full-time, on-site role in our CAP/CLIA-certified laboratory. You will perform high complexity molecular testing, including DNA/RNA extraction and qPCR, align with safety and regulatory standards.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in biology and state licenses (CLS or CGMBS); ASCP Molecular Biology certification is preferred. You will calibrate equipment, run QC, document results, and contribute to assay development

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biology or related field is required.
• California CLS or CGMBS license is required.
• ASCP Molecular Biology certification preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year in a clinical molecular lab preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily routine and complex molecular tests (DNA/RNA extraction, qPCR, NGS).
• Maintains reagent and consumable inventory and quality control.
• Reviews test results and documents procedures per SOPs.
• Troubleshoots technical and non-technical issues and participates in proficiency testing.
• Maintains records to ensure regulatory compliance and participates in assay improvements.

Job description

The flagship test, Mind.Px ™ , combines a dermal biomarker patch with Machine Learning to predict a patient’s likely response to costly psoriasis biologic therapies, helping reduce unnecessary treatment expenses.

Role Description

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist role at Mindera Health is a full-time, on-site position based in Vista, CA. The individual in this role works as part of the Research & Development team in a CAP/CLIA-certified clinical laboratory and performs high complexity molecular testing, including specimen processing, assay setup, instrument operation, and analysis of test results, in accordance with established safety protocols and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities include maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment, performing quality control and proficiency testing, documenting procedures and results, and participating in troubleshooting and process improvements. This role also involves adhering to safety and compliance requirements, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting a high-quality, patient-focused laboratory environment.

Education/Experience

• ·Bachelor’s degree in biology or a related field is required
• ·California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License (CLS) or Clinical Genetic Molecular Biologist Scientist License (CGMBS) is required
• ·At least one year of experience in a clinical molecular laboratory is preferred
• ·ASCP certification in Molecular Biology is preferred

Duties/Responsibilities

• ·Performs daily routine and complex molecular genetic tests, including DNA/RNA extraction, as well as molecular analysis such as qPCR and NGS.
• ·Maintains reagent and consumable inventory.
• ·Performs initial review and analysis of test results
• ·Able to independently troubleshoot and resolve technical and non-technical high complexity problems as per the company’s SOPs
• ·Participates in and successfully completes all proficiency testing
• ·Perform and document routine preventative maintenance and calibrations
• ·Maintains pertinent records according to the quality management plan to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
• ·Periodically review standard operating procedures
• ·Participate in introduction of assay improvements, new assay configurations and validation. Performs clinical data entry, sample processing, and quality control
• ·Analyzes test results and makes scientifically sound inferences based on statistical data and contextual references
• ·Performs miscellaneous duties in the clinical and R&D laboratories as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

• ·Broad knowledge in organic chemistry, molecular biology, or biochemistry
• ·Design and optimization of DNA probes

• ·Experience with liquid handling is preferred. (e.g., Hamilton)

$105,000-$120,000 base salary plus performance bonus and stock options
