Pride Health is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to support a medical facility in San Juan Capistrano, CA. This is a 3+ month contract-to-hire opportunity with a pay rate of $55-$70 per hour on W2.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or life/physical sciences and 0–3 years of direct laboratory experience. Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook is needed, with laboratory automation experience preferred.

Job description

Pride Health is hiring a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to support our client’s medical facility in San Juan Capistrano, CA. This is a 3+ months with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Title: Clinical Laboratory Scientist

Pay Rate: $55 -$70/hour on W2.

Duration: 3+ months

*Pay Rate is based on experience and educational qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex laboratory tests.
• Check specimen quality and ensure proper specimen handling.
• Accurately enter, review, and report laboratory results.
• Perform quality control, calibration, and equipment checks.
• Troubleshoot testing or equipment issues and report problems when needed.
• Prepare and maintain reagents, controls, and laboratory supplies.
• Maintain accurate labeling and tracking of specimens, reagents, and supplies.
• Recognize critical or unusual results and take appropriate action.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
• Follow PPE, safety, waste disposal, and infection‑control procedures.
• Communicate effectively with laboratory staff, managers, customers, and suppliers.
• Participate in staff meetings, quality improvement, training, and continuing education.
• Train or supervise unlicensed staff when required.
• Answer phones and handle messages professionally.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience

• 0–3 years of direct laboratory experience.

Education & License

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or Life/Physical Sciences — Required.

Skills

• Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong typing and computer skills.
• Laboratory automation experience preferred.
• Good attention to detail, hand‑eye coordination, and ability to perform repetitive tasks.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
• Ability to frequently lift/carry up to 10 lbs. and occasionally 11–25 lbs.
• Ability to safely handle laboratory materials and equipment.
• Good color vision may be required for certain laboratory testing.
