Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is hiring a Clinical Laboratory Assistant at PRESNow 24/7 Urgent and Emergency Care in Isleta to perform phlebotomy, process specimens, and run waived or moderate complexity tests following established procedures.

The role requires HS/GED with nine months of phlebotomy experience, BLS, on-call and varied shifts; you will support clinical staff, maintain equipment, and help ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• HS/GED plus nine months of phlebotomy experience.
• Preference for PBT (ASCP) or equivalent certification; waived/moderate testing experience preferred.
• Good communication, team-oriented, fast-paced, on-call readiness, and ability to work holidays/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and other collection procedures per procedures.
• Conducts urine drug collections and PPDs when required.
• Processes requisitions, enters test orders, and manages specimen transport.
• Receives, stores and prepares specimens, performs biohazard disposal as needed.
• Performs waived and moderate complexity testing after training and competency.
• Maintains equipment and stocks, and ensures regulatory compliance.
• Assists clinical staff with stocking supplies, cleaning, and patient transport as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

PRESNow 24/7 Urgent and Emergency Care - Isleta is hiring a Clinical Laboratory Assistant to provides phlebotomy and other collection procedures. Orders tests, processes patient specimens, and performs quality control. Performs waived or moderate complexity testing based on established procedures. Clerical duties and equipment maintenance. Provides general assistance to clinical floor staff as needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and other collection procedures appropriately and according to established procedures.
• Performs specialized collection procedures such as urine drug collections and PPD's if required.
• Processes requisitions and enters test orders into the computer system. Performs inquiry functions, specimen transport verification, and retrieves and prints collection labels.
• Receives, processes and/or stores specimens as appropriate, centrifuging, splitting, acidifying, aliquoting, measuring and stabilizing. Performs biohazard disposal as needed or appropriate.
• Performs waived and moderate complexity testing where there is documentation of successful completion of training and competency.
• Performs routine equipment maintenance and function checks including routine pipette calibration if required.
• Orders and maintains supplies and inventory.
• Insures compliance with all regulatory agencies.
• Assists clinical floor staff with stocking supplies, cleaning, patient transport and other tasks as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• HS/GED plus Nine months of phlebotomy experience.
• Preference of PBT (ASCP) or equivalent certification. Point of care, waived, and moderate complexity testing experience preferred, as well as laboratory specimen handling and testing.
• Competent phlebotomy skills; demonstrate effective communication skills, team-oriented, multi-tasker, organized, able to work in a fast- paced environment; good analytical skills; be on call as needed or required; work holidays, evenings and weekends as required.
• BLS required at time of hire.
