Medical University Hospital Authority in South Carolina seeks Medical Technologists to support high-quality laboratory testing in a clinical laboratory. MTs prepare specimens for testing, perform routine and specialized tests, and troubleshoot quality control issues and instrument maintenance.

The MT I/II pathway requires BS in Medical Technology and ASCP BOC certification, with primary source verification by MUHA HR. Certification must be obtained within the first year if not yet certified.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or relevant medical or scientific discipline.
• ASCP BOC certification or equivalent or relevant specialty lab certification.
• Primary source verification of successful completion is required and will be performed by MUHA Human Resources.
• New employees: Certification must be obtained within the first year of employment.
• MT I/II progression includes different experience requirements depending on tenure.

Responsabilités

• Performs sample processing and testing to support high quality laboratory patient results and related activities (60%).
• Performs quality control testing, instrument maintenance, and related competency activities (20%).
• Assists in orientation and training of new staff, students, and residents (10%).
• Participates in continuing education and models Standards of Behavior in daily interactions.
