Job summary

Labcorp in Calabasas, CA seeks an entry level Technician to join our team in Calabasas. You will participate in specimen testing under the oversight of a Clinical Lab Scientist and ensure regulatory compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Schedule is Wednesday–Saturday, 3:00pm–1:30am, with shift differential included.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Participate in specimen testing under the oversight of a Clinical Lab Scientist.
• Record dates of receipt, use, and expiration for reagents and controls.
• Perform pipetting using preset devices and calibrated instruments.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and document PM.
• Follow SOPs and safety requirements of Esoterix, CLIA, CAP and regulators.
• Document activities to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Develop understanding of laboratory medicine and clinical significance of results.

Labcorp is seeking an entry level Technician to join our team in Calabasas CA.

Work Schedule: Wednesday - Saturday 3:00pm - 1:30am

Job Responsibilities

• Participate in specimen testing according to established procedures working under the technical oversight of a Clinical Lab Scientist
• Record dates of receipt, in use, and expiration for all reagents, kits, controls, and standards used for assigned assays. Ensure material used is not expired prior to use
• Perform pipetting using pre-set devices, calibrated and approved automatic devices or fixed volume dispensers
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, document PM appropriately, and immediately contact appropriate personnel for problems requiring complex instrument repairs
• Adhere to the standard operating procedures and safety requirements of Esoterix, CLIA, CAP and other regulatory bodies
• Document all activities as necessary including preventative maintenance logs, instrument function checks, troubleshooting, and quality control to ensure regulatory compliance
• Develop an ever-increasing understanding of laboratory medicine and the clinical significance of laboratory results

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology

Preferred Qualification

• Current or prior Labcorp experience
• 1 year or more of lab experience

• Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

• Pay Range: $24.00- $30.00 per hour plus shift differential

Benefits:

Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
