Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Lab Professional to join our team at Ascension Seton Medical Center in Austin, TX. The role involves testing specimen acceptability, performing procedures per SOPs, and maintaining instrumentation and quality controls in a high-volume clinical lab environment.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, with preferred ASCP/AMT certification and familiarity with LIS.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Chemical or Biological sciences, Medical Technology or equivalent.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems.
• Proficiency with computers and software used in labs.
• Attention to detail and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures according to SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care.
• Perform preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE.
