Job summary

Spherion Staffing, LLC is recruiting Clinical Lab Scientists to join a local leader in cancer eradication efforts. In this role you will perform moderate to high complexity testing in a regulated lab environment.

This contract position offers shifts Sat-Mon and Tue-Fri, 36 hours per week, with pay of $30.40-$31.30 per hour and potential to become permanent.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in science (Biology or Chemistry) or an Associate with 6 Biology and 6 Chemistry credits.
  • Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Maintain confidentiality due to handling patient information.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Follow SOPs and perform moderate to highly complex testing of clinical specimens.
  • Monitor and document quality control procedures with accuracy.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
  • Prepare reagents and ensure inventory for daily operations.
  • Review patient results and communicate outcomes as needed.
  • Identify issues affecting test performance and escalate when needed.

Job description

Spherion is recruiting Clinical Lab Scientists to join a local, industry leader in their mission dedicated to the eradication of cancer. As a Clinical Lab Scientist, you will perform moderate to high complexity testing in a lab environment while following a highly regulated process. Whether you are a recent degree looking to gain experience or someone who's been in the industry for many years looking for a change, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

36/hrs per week.

Pay: $30.40- 31.30/hour

Type: Contract with potential to become permanent

Shifts Available:

Sat- Mon - 6pm-6:30am

Tue- Fri- 10pm-7:30am

Responsibilities
  • Following laboratory standard operating procedures, perform moderate to highly complex testing and analysis of clinical specimens
  • Perform, review, and document quality control procedures with a high degree of accuracy
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment
  • Prepare reagents required for laboratory testing
  • Identify and troubleshoot basic problems that adversely affect test performance
  • Maintain a sufficient inventory of laboratory supplies for daily operations
  • Maintain quality, identify issues that might adversely impact quality, and communicate concerns to the appropriate manager
  • Manage daily test processing needs along with project needs in a high-quality, efficient, and effective manner
  • Review, interpret, and approve patient results as needed
Required Qualifications
  • Required Education: Bachelor's degree in science field, preferably Biology or Chemistry OR Associates with credits- 6 in Biology, 6 in Chemistry and 24+ in total combined
  • Able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • A high degree of confidentiality as you will be working with patient medical information
  • Excellent attention to detail
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in molecular testing or previous experience as a Scientist
Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Ability to perform technical work up to 95% of a typical working day and administrative work up to 5% of a typical working day
  • Manual dexterity to perform repetitive motions including the ability to grasp with both hands, pinch with thumb and forefinger, turn with hand/arm, and reach above shoulder height
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment as you may be exposed to hazardous materials, tissue specimens, blood or blood products, instruments with moving parts, lasers, heating and freezing elements, and high-speed centrifugation
