This Clinical Lab Scientist Supervisor will supervise the Blood Donor Center - which is responsible for all the blood and platelet collections at CHLA. They will oversee the phlebotomists, mobile driver, RNs, and recruitment team. They will work with marketing and other groups to increase hospital collections and reduce reliance on purchases from the Red Cross.
This position ensures that recruitment and collection-related activities are conducted in the safest possible manner and meet or exceed all regulatory standards. The Supervisor performs appropriate budgetary, disciplinary, and HR-related activities and participates in hospital and departmental meetings.
5+ in Transfusion Medicine and Blood Donor Center
Experience initiating and evaluating operational initiatives to improve quality, throughput, and care. Ability to lead others and apply organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully verbally and in writing.
Previous supervisory and fiscal management experience. Thorough knowledge of the principles pertaining to the area of responsibility. Familiar with FDA, AABB and CAP Regulations.
Bachelor’s degree in a clinical lab science, medical technology or related science required.
