Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science or medical technology.
• Candidate must possess one of the listed ASCP/NCA certifications or equivalent.
• Certifications demonstrate proficiency in clinical laboratory specialties and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Determines suitability of specimens and orders by verifying patient information and troubleshooting erroneous or inconsistent orders.
• Organizes and prioritizes workload to meet the needs of medical staff without repetition of work.
• Performs routine and special testing procedures accurately, evaluates results, and troubleshoots abnormal findings in a timely manner.
• Responds quickly to emergency situations and STAT requests, providing services without delay.
• Trains new employees and communicates clearly to support workflow and quality testing.
• Adheres to safety policies and maintains a clean work area.

Education
