Job summary

Monroe Hospital, part of Prime Healthcare, is seeking qualified laboratory personnel for a nights shift in Bloomington, IN. The role requires handling a variety of tests across Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, and more, with strict adherence to CLIA standards and hospital policies.

Applicants should hold ASCP certification (or equivalent) and a Bachelor’s degree in a health science field, with 2+ years of hospital lab experience and a valid state license where required.

Qualifications

  • ASCP certification is preferred.
  • Minimum two years of hospital laboratory work experience required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological health science or Medical Laboratory Technology per CLIA requirements.
  • Current and valid state license if applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform waived, moderate, or highly complex tests as authorized by CLIA and applicable codes.
  • Adhere to lab procedures for collection, processing, analysis and reporting of results.
  • Follow quality control policies and document corrective actions.
  • Identify problems affecting test performance and notify supervisor.
  • Perform maintenance on instruments and equipment.
  • Review accuracy of patient results before reporting.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological health science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements stated in CLIA (42 CFR 493.1423)
ASCP certification, or equivalent preferred
