  • Prepares and maintains reagents, controls, and standards used in the individual test procedures.
  • Receives, logs, and processes specimens as required by each area of the laboratory.
  • Supervises and oversees work performed by laboratory assistants and clinical laboratory trainees.

Summary

Under close supervision, performs a variety of laboratory tests in multiple areas within the department. Incumbents receive close supervision and considerable guidance in the development of laboratory skills and in performing required tests and procedures. Performs related duties as required.


Duties & Essential Job Functions


  1. Maintains adequate records such as: worksheets, logs, inventory lists, QC checklists, and other as needed data.

  2. Performs preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment; performs quality control tests and calibrations on instruments used in testing procedures.

  3. Performs required testing of specimens following standardized procedures and policies adopted by the laboratory.

  4. Prepares and maintains proper reagents, controls, and standards used in the individual test procedures.

  5. Receives, logs, and processes specimens as required by each area of the laboratory.

  6. Supervises and oversees work performed by laboratory assistants and clinical laboratory trainees.


Minimum Qualifications

MinimumExperience: Sufficient education, training and work experience to demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position. Required Licenses/Certifications: Valid license as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Bioanalyst in the State of California.


Pay Range

$86.0293 / Hour


The pay range for this position reflects the base pay scale for the role at Alameda Health System. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, departmental equity, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and the operational needs of the organization. Alameda Health System also offers eligible positions a generous comprehensive benefits program.
