Job summary

Tahoe Forest Health System is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to perform 24x7 laboratory analysis of blood, body fluids, tissues and other materials to support diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease, in accordance with CLIA-88, accreditation standards, and state regulations.

Under supervision, you will operate and maintain instruments, review QC data, enter data into the LIS, and communicate with nursing and medical staff to ensure proper patient preparation, specimen handling

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in a health science related discipline.
• 1-2 years relevant experience.
• California CLS and/or Nevada General Supervisor license.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex analytical tests and ensure data entry to LIS with accuracy.
• Communicate with nursing, physicians and staff to ensure proper patient preparation and specimen handling.
• Operate and maintain instruments; troubleshoot and activate backups to ensure safe patient care.
• Act as Medicare/General Supervisor in the absence of management per CLIA-88.
• Participate in lean/DMAIC process improvements to enhance operations.
