Pay Rate: $52.43/hr-$76/hr

Position Summary

This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Saddleback Medical Center. The employee shall support Saddleback Medical Center's strategic plan and participate in and advocate performance improvement/patient safety activities.

Performs Laboratory testing and/or prepares blood components. Maintains a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures. This knowledge includes the use of specialized analytical instrumentation, clinical correlation of test results, quality control requirements, and preventative maintenance. Supports the laboratory mission. Participates in the continuous quality improvement process through professional development, continuing education, research and development, and quality assurance.

This role includes a variable schedule mainly supporting Point of Care Testing and Blood Bank Operations.

Required to work every other weekend and holiday coverage. The selected candidate must be available to work PM shifts as needed to support operational needs and staffing coverage. In addition candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, flexibility and adaptability in response to evolving departmental priorities and demonstrates a commitment to our Simply Better values.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications/Work Experience:

• 1-3 years of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist in an acute care hospital laboratory preferred.

Education/Licensure/Certification:

• Current State of California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License required.

Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities.
