Job summary

Heywood Healthcare seeks aGeneral Medical Laboratory Technician/MLS to join our rotating, per diem team in the clinical laboratory. The role involves conducting tests across departments, assisting with specimen collection, and upholding strict quality controls.

The ideal candidate will perform venipunctures when needed, maintain instrument performance, and collaborate with supervisors to ensure accurate patient results in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Additional languages preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Operates the following equipment correctly and safely: photometer, spectrograph, colorimeter, microscope.

Responsibilities

• Conducts interactions with everyone in a friendly, courteous and respectful manner.
• Performs venipunctures and capillary punctures when necessary.
• Maintains a safe and clean hospital/workstation.
• Ensures compliance with regulations to maintain accreditation and licensure.
• Performs, evaluates, and reports quality control values and resolves instrument errors.
