Job summary

UNC Health in Raleigh, NC is seeking to prepare patient specimens for analysis and provide technical support for a clinical service. The role features a Monday–Friday 3PM–11:30PM schedule and full-time onsite work.

Responsibilities include consulting with providers, troubleshooting equipment and workflow, and assisting in teaching. Education: high school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. This is a non-state employment position with UNC Rex Healthcare.

Responsibilities:

• Consults/confers with healthcare providers and/or laboratory supervisor regarding specimen suitability, procedures, media preparation or instrument function checks.
• Investigates and troubleshoots problems with equipment, procedures, specimens, reagents and/or workflow.
• May assist in teaching of Clinical Laboratory Science students, Pathology residents, fellows, visiting scientists and/or new employees.
• May monitor daily operation of a specific clinical service or program.
• May participate on teams or perform special projects/assignments.
• Performs specimen processing procedures. Provides quality control and equipment maintenance.
