Job summary

Qualifications

• REQUIRED: High school diploma or GED or post-secondary education.
• Holds at least a two-year degree in chemical, physical, or biological science or health-related specialty, OR
• Two years’ experience in specimen collections or related processing, OR
• Clinical phlebotomy training (including lab rotations) or Phlebotomy Certification.
• All applicants must pass Color-Acuity screening.

Responsibilities

• Handles laboratory data collection systems and equipment to ensure proper ordering, cancellation, and charging for tests.
• Performs specimen collection procedures for inpatients and outpatients.
• Performs non-technical specimen processing, preparation and distribution of specimens.

Education

High school diploma or GED

Two-year degree in chemical, physical, or biological science

Phlebotomy Certification

Two years’ experience in specimen collection

Clinical phlebotomy training (Northside Hospital Lab rotation)
