Job summary

Palomar Health in Escondido, CA seeks a phlebotomy aide to support laboratory procedures and specimen processing. The role requires proficiency in phlebotomy, handling requisitions, and interacting with patients and staff in a courteous manner.

Strong computer skills (MS Windows, Excel) and familiarity with office equipment are beneficial. Prior phlebotomy training or ROP program completion is preferred; 3–6 months experience is acceptable.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: High School Diploma and/or combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education: Basic college coursework.
Minimum Experience: 3 - 6 months related or successful completion of phlebotomy ROP program.
Preferred Experience: 11 months or more related.
Knowledge of standard office equipment and basic computer software.

Responsibilities

Reviews requisitions, orders tests and processes specimens in preparation for laboratory procedures.
Interacts with internal/external customers, including patients, visitors, physicians and co-workers, in a professional and courteous manner.
Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards.
Performs and demonstrates proficiency and understanding of the procedures in one or more areas for the clinical laboratory.
