Job summary

Sentara Healthcare Inc in Virginia Beach is seeking a Lab Assistant to perform patient phlebotomy, label and process specimens, register and enter test data, and monitor supplies in a fast-paced hospital setting.

You may operate lab equipment, interact with hospital staff and physicians, and assist at the patient bedside as needed. BLS within 90 days of hire; HS diploma required; no certification required.

Overview

Performs patient phlebotomy while maintaining the highest level of customer service. Collects, labels, and processes patient specimens for testing. Responsible for registration and test data entry. Monitors supply levels.

Operates and maintains laboratory equipment. Responsible for both internal and external customer inquiries and problem resolution. Frequently interacts with hospital and physician office staff. May perform EKG and glucose meter. Maybe at the patient's bedside.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $19.88 - $29.43 hourly.
