Job summary

Unity Health is seeking a phlebotomy-focused team member to collect blood from patients and donors, accurately labeling samples for tests and donations. You will document patient and donor information, monitor procedures, and store samples per protocol in a hospital setting.

Physical tasks include walking, bending, stairs, and handling biohazardous materials with protective gear as required by OSHA. Safety sensitive role; prior experience not required and training provided.

Description

Responsible for collecting blood from patients and donors, identifying and labeling all drawn blood accurately for tests, and/or blood donations. Also responsible for accurately collecting and recording patient and donor information, monitoring patients through procedures, and storing samples as required. This position requires knowledge in the care of patients served as indicated: Neonate and infant birth up to one year, Childhood and Adolescence is one year to 17 years, Adult is 18 to 65 years and Geriatric is 65 years and above.

Physical Effort: Walking, bending, using stairs, working with bio-hazardous material, wearing of protective material as required by OSHA.
